I hope 2017 is the last year of the absurd and oppressive beer regime in Ontario and signals the end of politics as usual

InBev and Molson-Coors- the evil empire of beer- has Ontario in the bag. This multinational monstrosity that owns almost all beer market share in Ontario pays off all the major political parties in Ontario, and in return has a government enforced monopoly so that ontarians are forced to pay more for less choice and less convenient hours and locations. The whole sordid  corruption has been exposed by all the major papers and caused a bit of a stir- still it wasn’t enough for the government to do anything except sell InBev, Molson-Coors approved beer in grocery stores at InBev approved prices during InBev approved hours.

Beer is a very important part of the working man’s life, and this affair is the clearest example of how big governments -nudging the population harder and harder, saddling bigger deficits with nothing of value to show, intruding and stifling- have teamed up with big business to sap as much as possible from working people.

P.S. Why does Ontario Lottery and Gaming Co advertise? They have a monopoly on Gambling! 100% of the revenue should go to healthcare and conservation areas!
